Playground Press Release
Funding approved for new children’s play park in Hilton
Families in Hilton are set to get a new children’s playpark thanks to a £52,901 grant from FCC Communities Foundation.
The money, awarded by FCC Communities Foundation Community Action Fund, will be used to buy play equipment, replace the surface and fencing and improve the surrounding area of the Jubilee Play Park in Grove End.
Laura Chorlton of Hilton Parish Council believes the facility will make a huge difference to the lives of people living in the area.
She says: “This project will provide a real boost to the people of Hilton. It’s fantastic that FCC Communities Foundation has awarded us this money and we’re really looking forward to our playground taking shape over the next 6 months.”
FCC Communities Foundation is a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community, biodiversity and heritage projects from funds donated by FCC Environment through the Landfill Communities Fund.
Richard Smith, Grant Manager for FCC Communities Foundation says: “We’re delighted to be supporting the play improvements at Hilton Park and pleased our funding will provide such a fantastic facility for children and young families. We are always happy to consider grant applications for projects that make a difference to local communities and we’re really looking forward to seeing this one take shape soon.”
Hilton Parish Council hopes the Playground will be ready to use by 1st December 2019.
Hilton Parish Council also acknowledge and thank the Hilton Town Trust and the Parishioners who kindly gave donations towards the project in both volunteering time and money.
