Playground update April 17 2019
Great news! We have agreed to replace the whole playground on Grove End, stripping out the existing and creating the facility as shown above, with a substantial grant from Wren – whom we thank enormously!
We also wish to thank the group of able and willing volunteers who have helped us make Grove End into a friendlier and airier space, some of which the children can enjoy exploring in due course. It will also make maintenance much easier!
There are two needs still to resolve – the first of which is making up the necessary funds. For the children of the village, please do consider making a donation – however large or small. The bank details for BACS transfers or if you would rather pay by cheque then do contact Nicola to advise her and make cheques payable to Hilton Parish Council – .
If the sum generated exceeds that needed for the main project, we will put the excess towards the grassing and improvement of the area around the playground.
PLEASE do advise Nicola Webster, our clerk, of any donations you make so she can keep a track of what money has been donated for this project and so we can thank you.

The second need is to continue with the preparation and maintenance of Grove End – in readiness for the changes and thereafter to best ensure safe play. Ideally we want a team who will work with the PC to become the playground maintenance team – please advise hNicola if you are willing and able to join.
Lastly, there will be the need to dispose of the existing play equipment some of which is quite serviceable. If anyone is interested in the equipment please let us know. We may auction it to those willing to take it away.
Any comments / queries then please do get in touch.
