Local Plan Update
The local plan consultations are still underway and the deadline to respond is 27 November. The consultations are:
- Further Issues and Options – Sets out options for what may be included in the new local plan across a variety of subjects including a growth strategy and sustainability of settlements that will help direct the location of growth in the district. Other topics include flooding, climate change, design, housing requirements, employment, blue and green infrastructure, housing mix, and transport and connectivity. It also asks some questions about what is important to you. The final options chosen will guide what kind of policies HDC may include in the local plan and on what.
- Land Availability Assessments – Assesses sites that were put forward by landowners, developers, agents and interested third parties to see if they are potentially suitable or unsuitable for development, the conclusion of which can be found at the end of each assessment.
- Sustainability Appraisal – Assesses the strategies, options, sites and future polices against a series of sustainability objectives
